What extracurricular activities have you been involved with during high school? Basketball, softball, volleyball, student government, marching band, pep band, School to Work: Elementary Education, Junior Leadership of Manitowoc County
What is one academic accomplishment about which you feel particularly good about? Being able to maintain a heavy course load while participating in sports and clubs year round. I chose a heavy course load to prepare for college, and being able to maintain a good GPA, and this has helped me prepare for my academics at the next level.
Which class or extracurricular activity influenced your decision regarding the career you plan to pursue? I have always known I wanted to follow my mother’s footsteps and be a teacher, but taking the class School to Work: Elementary Education made me fall in love with teaching even more, and being able to mentor the students made me know for sure this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
What advice do you have for those just starting their high school career? Don’t take anything for granted and take all the memories in. High school flies by, so surround yourself with the right people, take your academics seriously and have fun — because the time flies by, and it’ll be the best four years of your life.
What are your plans after high school? I plan to pursue a degree in elementary education at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, while playing softball at the university.
What would you like to be doing 10 years from now? I hope to be teaching at an elementary school close to home, hopefully being able to coach a youth sports team and trying to start a family of my own.

What extracurricular activities have you been involved with during high school? Wrestling, football, baseball, Youth Apprenticeship
What is one academic accomplishment about which you feel particularly good about? Passing the AP (advanced placement) test for AP Government my junior year. I am proud of this because it was my first AP test and class that I took and it was during the shutdown, so the method for taking the test was much different than in previous years.

Which class or extracurricular activity influenced your decision regarding the career you plan to pursue? The extracurricular activity that influenced my decision on what career to pursue was my Youth Apprenticeship at Manitowoc Public Utilities. I have learned a lot of aspects and parts of what Water Resource Management is. This really helped steer me in the direction of pursuing a career in environmental science.
What advice do you have for those just starting their high school career? Take advantage of college-level classes and the Youth Apprenticeship program. Mishicot offers many different college credit classes that can save a lot of money in the long run. Youth Apprenticeship is a great way to gain work experience as well as life skills that will help you develop.
What are your plans after high school? I plan to attend a four-year college and get a degree in environmental science.
What would you like to be doing 10 years from now? I am hoping to have a steady and reliable job in the environmental science field. I would like to be working somewhere in Wisconsin as well.

What is one academic accomplishment about which you feel particularly good about? Not only challenging myself to take college courses, but also succeeding in these courses. I feel this is very important, because it prepares me for college and puts me ahead of the ball in terms of the amount of classes I will need to take in college.
Which class or extracurricular activity influenced your decision regarding the career you plan to pursue? The shop classes have influenced my decision on planning to become a tech ed teacher in the future. What advice do you have for those just starting their high school career?
Advice that I give to students just starting high school is that everything matters. You need to give full effort in everything you do, whether it be an extracurricular activity or school work. What are your plans after high school? I plan to attend a four-year college to become a technical education teacher.
What would you like to be doing 10 years from now? I hope to be teaching shop classes at a technical college and living life to its fullest.

What extracurricular activities have you been involved with during high school? Basketball, softball, volleyball, band, choir, student government, Power of Positive Students, National Honor Society, Future Health Professionals, a mentoring program, and Junior Leadership of Manitowoc County.
What is one academic accomplishment about which you feel particularly good? Maintaining a 3.9 GPA despite being involved in many different activities. In addition to this, I have been able to take numerous AP, honors and college-level classes.
Which class or extracurricular activity influenced your decision regarding the career you plan to pursue? In middle school, I was required to take a life science class, which is where I found my passion for biology. I continued taking health science classes until I was offered a nursing assistant class through Lakeshore Technical College. After receiving my CNA, I realized that becoming a nurse was the best option for me.
What advice do you have for those just starting their high school career? Do not take anything for granted as it can be taken away in the blink of an eye (credit to the coronavirus). But in all seriousness, high school goes by super fast, so get involved, study hard and just have fun because in four short years you’ll be moving on to bigger and better things.
What are your plans after high school? I will be attending UW-Eau Claire, where I will be majoring in nursing with hopes to someday become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
What would you like to be doing 10 years from now? I see myself either working for a big hospital or running my own clinic. I hope I am impacting the lives of others and helping those in need. I would also like to be starting a family of my own and living somewhere in Wisconsin with a dog or two.
Teacher recommendation: "Maddie is a high-achieving, kind and responsible young woman. As her middle school and high school counselor, I have had the pleasure watching Maddie grow over the last seven years. Upon completion of middle school, Maddie had earned two scholarships from the National Junior Honor Society to apply toward her post-secondary goals. Her academic perseverance continued into high school as she took several AP and college-level courses. This rigorous course-load did not stop her from being involved in sports or clubs. Maddie has continued to be a leader in our school community through her involvement in HOSA, student government and POPs as well as several other student organizations. Sports have always been important to Maddie. When a knee injury hindered her ability to play, she remained committed to her team(s) by attending practices and leading from the sidelines. Our district food pantry will be open next Monday, October 19th from 5-6:30pm at OH Schultz Elementary. Visitors are asked to enter the building through the front doors. One person per household please. Masks are required. This represents a date change. The pantry will not be open on October 26th.
Thank you to the Steeber brothers for their generous donation to the district food pantry. The boys sold pumpkins and decided to use their proceeds to give back to the community. Great job!!!

The School District of Mishicot will be closed beginning on Wednesday, March 18th through April 5th to comply with Governor Tony Evers executive order that all schools be closed. At this time school is scheduled to resume on April 6th. There will be school on Monday and Tuesday, March 16th and 17th. This will give students the opportunity to gather any school materials they will need to continue learning while at home. We will provide additional details as they become available. Thank you in advance for your patience, as we continue to gather new information.
Late start on Friday, March 13:
Congratulations to our girls’ basketball team for making it to the State Basketball Tournament! The girls will be playing Melrose-Mindoro on Thursday at 8:00 pm at the Resch Center. Knowing that we will have a large number of staff, students and families attending the game, we will be having a late start on Friday, March 13th. School will start 2 hours later allowing students and families the time to travel back safely without having the need to rush. Classes on Friday will start at 9:55 am.
