What extracurricular activities have you been involved with during high school? Over the course of these past four years, I have been involved in Peter Quince Performing Company, student government, class officer positions, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Power of Positive Students Mentoring Program, Wisconsin Leadership Seminars, Badger Girls State, musical, Big East Honors Band, 24 Hours of Art, Soundwave Show Choir, Centre Stage Musical Theatre Awards, WSMA Solo and Ensemble, Main Street Dance Academy, Big East Art Shows, mock trial team, Wisconsin Congressional Art Shows, WPS Solar Olympics, Art Club, forensics speech club, Big East Honors Choir, Future Business Leaders of America, varsity track and field, varsity winter dance team, and varsity cross country.
What is one academic accomplishment about which you feel particularly good? I think one accomplishment that really stands out in my mind is my taking of AP United States History my sophomore year. As one of my favorite classes, I was overjoyed when all my efforts paid off and I passed the College Board Exam.
Which class or extracurricular activity influenced your decision regarding the career you plan to pursue? My inspiration for my post-secondary plans is really drawn from all of my involvements. I always found myself pulled in different directions since I love theater, music and art so much. While I’m still figuring the logistics of it all out, I aspire to combine these interests into a career.
What advice do you have for those just starting their high school career? The last thing you ever want to feel in high school is that you are limiting your potential. Perhaps the best time to really explore your interests and find passions, never hesitate to try a new activity or join a club. With that said, finding “your passion” doesn’t have to be a single entity. Individuals can have passions residing in many different realms, and I wish someone would have taught me earlier that wanting to indulge in as many passions as possible isn’t a bad thing. You never have to lock yourself onto one path, there are many to choose from.
What are your plans after high school? Although I have yet to finalize my school of choice, I plan to study Inter-Arts Performance at a four-year college.
What would you like to be doing 10 years from now? While I have a lot of goals I’d like achieve in my future, I hope to find myself a part of a traveling musical theater production 10 years from now.
