Our 4th graders have gotten off to a great start this 2021-2022 school year! As the students returned to school, we did several activities aimed at getting to know one another. We did group activities which centered on developing a growth mindset, as opposed to a fixed mindset. Team building activities were an essential part of our learning early in the school year, along with learning the importance of listening and paying attention in class. One of the culminating activities our students participated in was the creation of a “Magic Book,” which was an art project designed to highlight each of the 4th graders’ hobbies and interests, family, and skills. We then shared these within our classrooms with one another. As we end the month of September and begin October, the students are becoming more familiar with the use of technology, specifically their Chromebook and the Schoology program. This portal will house their homework for several of their classes and is essential for the development of their learning throughout the year.
