MISHICOT HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

Kohler Credit Union Scholarship

Due Date:  March 9, 2019

 This $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to students in renewable installments of $2500 each school year for up to four years.

The requirements for the scholarship are:

  • Student or parents must be Kohler Credit Union Members prior to the beginning of the school year (defined as 9/1/18)
  • Student must have a cumulative high school grade point of at least 3.25 
  • Student must have a definite plans to attend a 4-year college or university full-time in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Student must have a high school record that indicates achievement and high standards in scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and involvement in school and community activities.

The Wisconsin Czechs, Inc. Scholarship Committee welcomes your application.  Our organization awards four scholarships each year for deserving high school seniors.  Scholarships will be predicated on academic standing and financial need.

The following criteria are needed to apply for this scholarship:

  1. A portion of the student's ancestry must include Czech, Slovak, Moravian or Silesian heritage.
  2. The applicant must be a graduating senior from either a public, private high school or home schooled.
  3. The applicant, a parent or a grandparent has been a member of the Wisconsin Czechs, Inc. for at least one year.
  4. A transcript of your high school academic record must be sent along with this application.

UW Oshkosh CAPP excellence award

UW Oshkosh CAPP Excellence Award ($2000, no set number offered...renewable for a second year ($4000 total))

This scholarship will be awarded to incoming freshmen admitted to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Applicants must have taken at least one UW Oshkosh CAPP course while in high school. Applicant must have a minimum ACT score of 28 and a minimum high school GPA of 3.75 or a minimum ACT score of 30 and the minimum high school GPA to meet admission standards. The recipient must live in an Oshkosh campus residence hall in order to qualify for the award. Students may apply for the CAPP Scholarship, the CAPPHonors Scholarship, and the UW Oshkosh CAPP Excellence Award; however, students are only eligible to receive one of the awards.

This scholarship will be renewable for a second year provided the recipient earns a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade-point average, completes at least 27 credits between their fall and spring semesters of their first year at UW Oshkosh, continues to live in on-campus housing during their second year, and funding is available.

The Green Bay Gamblers and Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy LLC are proud to introduce the John Pagel scholarship. John was the owner of Pagel’s Ponderosa, the largest family owned dairy farm in Wisconsin. John was dedicated to the dairy community founding various dairy associations and cooperatives. John touched the lives of countless people personally and professionally through his friendship, willingness to help and public service. He loved farming side by side with his children and beamed with pride over them and his grandchildren. In them, he saw a bright and secure future and a lasting family legacy.

To be eligible, student must be a senior in high school and plan on studying Agriculture, Animal Science, Agronomy, Conservation, Horticulture, or a separate field connected to agriculture in college. Essay winner receives a $3,000 scholarship. Essay question:

“Why I want to work in Agriculture?”

IRONWOOD PLASTICS SCHOLARSHIP

2019 manitowoc county university of wisconsin agriculture alumni association scholarship

The Manitowoc County UW-Agriculture Alumni Association Board is pleased to announce that several scholarships will be available for students from Manitowoc County enrolling in agriculture and life sciences majors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Platteville, River Falls, Green Bay or Stevens Point. Examples of eligible majors include traditional production agriculture majors like dairy science, soil science and agronomy. Other majors may also qualify including: biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, forestry, horticulture, environmental science and more. Scholarships for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course are also available. Scholarships for a degree program will be up to $1,000 while scholarships for Farm and Industry Short Course will be up to $750. The Manitowoc County Farm Bureau Young Famers and Agriculturist Committee and the Promotion and Education Committee are pleased to each provide a $400 scholarship to a student who is attending an accredited college, university or technical school. The recipients will receive a check for $400.00 following completion of his/her first semester with the check made out to the school and student’s name. All majors will be considered, but preference will be given to students involved with agriculture.

The Dillon Mueller Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to deserving individuals in the Mishicot FFA Chapter.  Supervised agricultural experiences, chapter involvement, leadership abilities, and overall body of work will be considered in choosing the recipients of these scholarships.

Two scholarships will be awarded.  The top qualifier will be awarded a $300 scholarship and the second place candidate will be awarded a $200 scholarship.  The $300 winner will be designated as the "Do It For Dillon Scholarship" and the $200 winner will be designated as the "Braaap On For Dillon Scholarship".

This scholarship is open to any resident of Manitowoc County who plays a musical instrument or is a vocal musician, ages 16 to 22 years old as of July 20, 2019. The amount of the scholarship will be $1000.00. It must be used to further music education at the college of your choice, at a music camp or at music workshops. The scholarship recipient will be invited to perform at Acoustic Fest on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Washington Park, Manitowoc Wisconsin if available. This is NOT mandatory but is highly recommended.

Applicants for this scholarship will have a strong desire to work in the medical field.

Two scholarships $1,000 will be awarded to applicant’s who demonstrate strong academic success, are able to provide two letters of recommendation (one of which must be from a teacher or counselor), plan to enter into a health care career and illustrate an understanding of Batten Disease and how upon completing their college degree they would be able to assist person’s suffering from Batten Disease.

2- $500 scholarships will be awarded annually.  One will be awarded for a student attending a 4-year college/university or a 2-year UW college leading to a Bachelor's Degree, and one awarded for a student attending technical college.

Criteria:

  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must have attended MHS junior and senior year
  • Financial Need - Students who have this need will be given priority
  • This scholarship is non-renewable

Due Date:  April 15, 2019

This scholarship is worth a minimum of $1,000.  It can be renewed based on available funds and maintaining a 3.0 average.  There will be a minimum of two scholarships awarded each year.  Selection for this scholarship is primarily based on financial need with top priority given to students who do not receive other scholarships.

Criteria:

  • Must be a graduate of Mishicot High School and have attended at least the entire Junior and Senior years at MHS
  • Must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  • Must have financial need
  • Must be accepted for enrollment at any university or technical college
  • Scholarship shall be granted at the beginning of the student's second semester enrollment.

Eligibility Standards:

  • Must be a graduate of Mishicot High School
  • Must have been enrolled as a student at MHS for at least their entire junior and senior years.
  • Must have attained a minimal grade point average of 2.75 throughout high school or for the junior and senior years.
  • Must be accepted for enrollment at a non private Wisconsin University or Technical College for the forthcoming school year.  Exceptions could be made for agriculture based studies.
  • Must maintain full time collegiate status by taking at least 12 credits per semester.
  • The student will receive $500 of the scholarship at the beginning of the student's first semester or enrollment and another $500 prior to the second semester of their first year of college.
