Manitowoc county bowling association scholarship

Due Date:  April 30, 2018

The Manitowoc County Bowling Association Scholarship Committee was been awarding scholarships to students pursuing an advanced education since 1992. A Manitowoc County Bowling Association scholarship is open to any High School Senior whose attends school in or whose primary residence is in Manitowoc County. Students must plan on being actively enrolled for the 2018-2019 academic year at an accredited junior or senior college or other training school. Applicants must have an amateur standing and must be a member of a MCBA sanctioned league or be a dependent of a sanctioned member. At least two scholarships for $500.00 will be awarded to the two selected winners. Selection criteria will be based on contributions to the sport of bowling and their community, scholastic record, and career goals. Scholarship recipients and parents are invited to the Annual Hall of Fame Banquet to receive their scholarship.

Mishicot Iron Scholarship

Due Date: May 1, 2018

One scholarship will be awarded yearly to a deserving member of the Mishicot High School graduating class.  Applications can be turned into the Mishicot High School Student Services Office.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Mishicot Graduate majoring in exercise science, physical education, fitness, or a health related field
  • 3.0 or above GPA

Application Process:

  • Submit Letter of Application
    • Should address why applicant is looking to enter the field and how they will use their degree (limit 500 words)
  • Submit Activity Sheet-Should be titled HS Involvement
    • Should address all other activities inside and outside of school that the candidate has been involved with in high school (includes all other clubs, extracurriculars, work experience, community service, etc...)
  • Submit copy of HS transcript

Scholarship Disbursement:

In order to receive scholarship money, college transcripts or grade report must be provided after completion of first semester coursework.

This scholarship is worth a minimum of $500.


  • Must be a graduate of Mishicot High School
  • Must plan on continuing education after high school

Five scholarships will be available for $2,000 each for any high school or college student pursuing a degree in a medical field.

The criteria for the scholarship are:

  • Acceptance at an accredited college, university, or technical school

  • A grade point average of 3.0 or above is desired
  • An essay that describes your health career objectives and financial need

  • High School seniors and post-secondary students currently enrolled in higher education are eligible to apply.

The Francis Creek Youth Sports Scholarship is for graduating high school students that meet the following requirements:

  • Must have participated with the Francis Creek Youth Sports for at least 5 years of which 2 years must be during high school
  • Must have helped with club and community projects
  • Volunteered in club duties for example: umpiring, concession stand, highway clean up.
  • Write a letter/essay explaining how you have fulfilled the requirements of each listed above.
  • Also include what you feel you gained by participating in the Francis Creek Youth Sports
  • Dead line for scholarship letters/essay is due by May 15, 2018

Receive up to $2500 to pursue career or technical education.  To be eligible for the Horatio Alger Scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Have completed high school by Spring 2018
  • Be enrolled in a 2 year or less career or technical degree/certificate program in Fall 2018 that will lead to employment
  • Attend a not for profit post secondary institute
  • Demonstrate financial need; applicants must be Pell Grant eligible
  • Be under the age of 30

christensen & hymas general scholarship

Due Date:  August 1, 2018

Kenneth Christensen and Russell Hymas are proud to offer a generous $1,000.00 scholarship for any individuals who qualify.

To qualify for this scholarship:

  1. You must be currently enrolled in or have been accepted to (and planning to attend) a University or College in the United States and provide proof of current enrollment. If you have not received acceptance, you may still apply, but be sure to provide proof of acceptance and enrollment for the scholarship to be released (ex. screenshot of grades, picture of acceptance letter, etc.)
  2. You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
