Youth Apprenticeship
The Youth Apprenticeship program is a rigorous one year or two year elective program that combines academic and technical classroom instruction with mentored on-the-job learning for high school students. Hands-on learning at the job site is combined with classroom instruction to help students make the connection between school and the world of work.
Students can apply for the Youth Apprentice program between January and March of each year. Students can apply during the Sophomore or Junior year in high school. After an initial job application review, applicants will be interviewed by employers and employment decisions will be made at that time,
Currently the following programs are offered through the apprenticeship programs:
One Year Programs: Auto Collision, Drafting and Design, Financial Services, Health Services-Nursing Assistant, Health Services-Pharmacy Technician, Industrial Equipment Technology, Information Technology, Hospitality, Lodging & Tourism, Manufacturing/ Machining, Manufacturing/Woods, Production Ag/Animal or Plant Science, Production Ag/Vet Tech, Welding.
Two Year Programs: Auto Collision, Auto Technician, Drafting and Design, Financial Services, Information, Hospitality, Lodging & Tourism, Technology, Manufacturing/Machining, Manufacturing/Woods, Production Ag/Vet Tech, Welding
The link to the 2012-2013 School Year application is currently available below. An Information Meeting will be held at Manitowoc Lincoln High School on Feb. 13th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. All interested students and parents should plan on attending this meeting. All applications must be typed and are due to Mrs. Brewer by March 6th, 2012.
