Summer Academy is a unique program to the Mishicot School District. This program works in collaboration with many post secondary schools to assist students in investigating future career plans. The first year of the program students attend a 2 day event on the UW-Oshkosh campus during the summer. Students learn about the different types of schools (private vs. public; university vs. technical college), scholarships, financial aid, extra curricular activities available on campus, residence hall life, and entrance requirements. During this 2 day workshop students stay overnight on campus and eat in the dining hall. There is no cost to the students to attend this program. Students may only attend the summer session one time. Students can apply to participate in this program in grades 7, 8 or 9.
During the school year, 2 trips per year are planned for Summer Academy students to visit other univeristy and technical college campuses. Academy students in grades 8-11 are invited to attend the trips during the school year.
Contact your building principals for more information.
